Falkirk Community Library
Architecture, Urban Design
2020

The project addresses the decay of Scottish high streets due to changes in modern retail and commercial pattern. With more deserted town centres and automobile-dependent suburban residential neighbourhoods, a return to high-density living could be the solution.

The proposed community library is a part of a life-long learning hub in Falkirk that offers a diverse range of education and living experiences. The hub also includes art studio and workshop spaces, a theatre with housing, and student housing on top of an education and sports complex. Traffic and bus routes are redesigned to bring people back into the High Street and reactivate the town centre.
